The Route

Introduction

I decided to walk in, do the round of Munro’s and walk out in the one day. It would be a big task but I felt it was possible. Truth is the walk in and out is a combined 30km with approx. 300m of ascent so that in itself would not be physically demanding, just long hahaha. I carried the usual kit, sleeping bag, bothy bag, etc etc but I also carried ice axe, crampons, microspikes and trainers for the walk in and out. I have to say my pack felt quite heavy and I was almost having second thoughts about my lunacy. Anyway the trip was on.

The Walk

I left the car at 0550 and returned to the car at 1850 having completed the round. So trainers on for the walk in and out. Got to the bothy at 0805ish. Met three people coming out the bothy. I assume they were walking Ben Alder and Beinn Bheoil because they were heading across the bridge and I met them again on the summit of Beinn Bheoil. I changed into boots in the bothy and headed directly up the steep slope behind the bothy. The pictures tell the story. I met one guy from England just below Aonach Beag and a couple on the ascent to Beinn Bheoil in addition to the three from the bothy. The weather was excellent all day with some minor snow flurrys and lovely sunshine. I was in my base layer top for most of the round. Cheers.

P.s. The Bike in the photo is not mine by the way haha.
